Amsterdam has one main cruise terminal, Cruise Port Amsterdam, on the IJ about a kilometre from Central Station. Celebrity and Holland America both say their Amsterdam sailings leave from here. Some Holland America ships use a different terminal at IJmuiden, so confirm which one your sailing uses on your cruise documents.

Amsterdam cruise parking

The port runs no car park of its own. Its parking page lists three garages run by others. Piet Hein, the city's garage, is directly opposite the terminal. IJ-oever Centrum is about a 3-minute walk. Q-Park Oostenburg is cheaper but about a 20-minute walk, or a short tram ride. None runs a shuttle. Book ahead: the port says that gets the best price.

Prices are in euros as each operator publishes them: 14-day totals for Piet Hein and Q-Park, and a 24-hour rate for IJ-oever.

Getting there

Schiphol (AMS) is the airport for Amsterdam, about 24 km from the terminal. Holland America says a taxi takes about 30 minutes and costs about €45, and that Uber and Bolt work. The port itself calls it a 20-minute drive. Central Station is about a kilometre away, and the light-rail stop at Kattenburgerstraat is a 7-minute walk.

Where is the Amsterdam cruise terminal, and which lines use it?

Amsterdam's cruise terminal is Cruise Port Amsterdam, at Piet Heinkade 27, on the IJ about a kilometre from Central Station. Celebrity says its ships embarking from Amsterdam dock there, and Holland America names it as its Amsterdam terminal too. Holland America says its Zuiderdam will sail from Amsterdam in 2027. Stop briefly in front of the terminal's main entrance and let passengers out; the port says you can do this. Waiting to pick people up is harder: the meeting point is on the street corner in front, and the port suggests parking in a nearby garage because disembarkation happens in phases. What time should I arrive at the Amsterdam cruise terminal?

Your line sets the time. Holland America assigns a check-in time about 14 days before sailing and asks you to arrive no earlier than 20 minutes before it, with boarding from 12:00. Celebrity says boarding times vary by ship and sail date. At the terminal you drop bags, check in on the Main Deck, then clear security and passport control. Plan your parking.
