Terminals by cruise line

Boston has one cruise terminal: Black Falcon, at Flynn Cruiseport Boston in the Seaport. Every line that starts a cruise here uses it. Norwegian, Holland America, Princess and Celebrity sail from it most seasons. There's no parking at the terminal itself, so book a space or plan your drop-off first.

Quick answers

How we checked these answers

Every answer is built from facts we checked against the sources below and cross-checked with recent port guides. Where sources disagreed, the answer says so instead of guessing a number.

Terminals & cruise lines

Where is the Boston cruise terminal?

The Boston cruise terminal is the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal at Flynn Cruiseport Boston, 1 Black Falcon Avenue in South Boston's Seaport. Massport calls it the port's main terminal, and its parking, drop-off and directions all point there. Massport's homeport partners, Norwegian, Holland America, Princess, Celebrity and others, sail from it. See the terminal and map link.

What cruise lines leave from Boston?

Massport names eight cruise lines that start seasonal cruises in Boston: Norwegian, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Cunard, Princess, Celebrity, Oceania and American Cruise Lines. Its 2026 schedule shows Norwegian Breakaway sailing most Sundays from April to November, Holland America on Saturdays, and Princess and Celebrity on select dates. Royal Caribbean and Cunard ships only called as visitors that year. Find the terminal.

Is Black Falcon the same as Flynn Cruiseport Boston?

Yes: Flynn Cruiseport Boston is Massport's name for the port, and the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal at 1 Black Falcon Avenue is its main terminal. Your cruise documents may use either name. Both mean the same building at the end of Black Falcon Avenue in South Boston. See the terminal.

Where do cruises from Boston go?

Cruises from Boston go to Bermuda, Canada and New England. In Massport's 2026 schedule, Norwegian Breakaway sails 5- and 7-day round trips to Bermuda and Halifax. Holland America heads to Quebec City, Montreal and New Brunswick, with a 28-day trip to Iceland. Princess sails one way to Quebec City, and Celebrity to Charlottetown. A few one-way autumn sailings go south to Fort Lauderdale or San Juan. See the ports.

Hotels

Which hotels near the Boston cruise port have a shuttle?

No hotel near the Boston cruise port advertises a cruise shuttle or park-and-cruise package, and Massport tells guests to ask a travel advisor or their cruise line. Four Seaport hotels are close enough to walk to Black Falcon: Hampton Inn Boston Seaport District, Hyatt Place Boston/Seaport District, Renaissance Boston Seaport District and the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport. Compare them.

Can I walk to the Boston cruise terminal from my hotel?

Yes, from the Seaport: the Hampton Inn Boston Seaport District is about 0.4 miles from the Black Falcon terminal, and Hyatt Place, the Renaissance and the Omni are 0.6 to 0.75 miles away. From downtown it's farther. Massport says the walk takes about 30 minutes, so most people take a cab or the Silver Line with bags. See the hotels.

How far is the Seaport Hotel from the Boston cruise terminal?

The Seaport Hotel Boston, at 1 Seaport Lane, is about 0.85 miles from the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal, roughly an 18-minute walk. It's on Massport's list of nearby hotels. It's a little farther than the four hotels we show, so with heavy bags a short cab ride is easier. See closer hotels.

Embarkation day

What time should I arrive at the Boston cruise terminal?

The terminal has no food or drinks, so eat first. See parking.

Do I need a passport to cruise from Boston to Canada?

Not always: on a round-trip cruise from Boston, U.S. citizens can sail with a valid passport, or with proof of citizenship such as a state-certified birth certificate plus a government photo ID, Massport says. It still strongly recommends a passport valid six months past your trip, so you can fly home if you miss the ship or must leave the cruise early.
