Quick answers

How we checked these answers

Every answer is built from facts we checked against the sources below and cross-checked with recent port guides. Where sources disagreed, the answer says so instead of guessing a number.

Terminals & cruise lines

Which terminal does Royal Caribbean or Carnival use at the Port of Miami?

Royal Caribbean sails from Terminal A, and Carnival mostly uses Terminals D, E and F. Norwegian is at Terminal B, moving to Terminal C on busy days. MSC uses Terminal AA, Virgin Voyages Terminal V, and Oceania and Regent Seven Seas the small Terminal J. Assignments can change, so check your cruise documents. See all nine terminals.

What cruise lines sail from Miami?

PortMiami lists 26 cruise lines. The big ones are Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and MSC, each with its own terminal, plus Virgin Voyages at Terminal V. Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, Cunard and Seabourn sail from here too. Find your line's terminal.

Can I drop off my luggage before parking at PortMiami?

Yes. The port asks you to drop off bags and passengers at your terminal first, then park. There are no luggage lockers on the port. On cruise days a free port shuttle links the terminals. See parking by terminal.

Hotels

Which Miami hotels have a cruise shuttle or cruise parking?

Three hotels include a ride to the port with a cruise package: Hampton Inn Coconut Grove, EB Hotel Miami Airport and Regency Miami Airport by Sonesta. Courtyard Miami Airport's package gives Uber credit to the port plus the first night's parking. Hampton Inn & Suites Brickell offers free parking while you stay and half-price parking for up to 7 nights after. Compare the hotels.

Parking

How much does it cost to park at Miami Cruise Port?

Port parking is $28 a day at Garages C, D, F and G and Surface Lot E. It's $35 a day at Garage AA for MSC and Garage B for Norwegian. Royal Caribbean's Garage A is $35 a night, prepaid online. Private lots cost less: for the same 7 nights in November 2026, Premier Cruise Parking quoted $126.67 and Safe Cruise Parking $138.80, tax and fees included. See every lot.

Where do you park for a cruise out of Miami?

Park in the port garage at your own terminal. Each terminal has one, and you walk from the garage to check-in. Carnival's Terminal F and Virgin's Terminal V share Garage G. To pay less, private garages downtown, like Safe Cruise Parking and Premier Cruise Parking, run free shuttles to the port. Find your garage.

Does Miami Cruise Port have free parking?

No. Port parking is $28 or $35 a day. The exceptions: vehicles with ramps, lifts or hand controls park free, and so do Florida disabled-veteran plates with the veteran aboard. A disabled permit or plate gets two hours free. See parking.

Can I reserve parking at the Port of Miami?

Only at some garages. Royal Caribbean's Garage A is prepaid online for your sailing date. Norwegian's Garage B can be reserved through ParkWhiz. The other port garages are first come, first served. Private lots like Safe Cruise Parking take bookings ahead online. See parking.

Where do oversized vehicles and RVs park at PortMiami?

Use Surface Lot E by Terminal E. It's an open lot with no height limit and spaces for RVs, vans and trailers, at $25 a space a day. Port garages top out around 7 ft on the upper floors. Royal Caribbean's garage sends taller vehicles to the surface lots. See parking.

Getting there

What is the closest airport to the Miami cruise port, and how far is it?

Miami International (MIA) is the closest, 7.1 miles from PortMiami. That's about 15 to 20 minutes without traffic. Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood (FLL) is 25.7 miles away, about 35 to 40 minutes. See getting there.

Is there a shuttle from the Miami airport to the cruise port?

Carnival sells a sailing-day shuttle from MIA and FLL; your flight must land by noon at MIA or 11:30 a.m. at FLL. Check with your own line for its transfers. Otherwise take a taxi or rideshare, or stay at a hotel whose cruise package includes the ride. See getting there.

Is it better to take a taxi or Uber from Miami Airport to the cruise port?

Either works. Taxis from MIA run on the meter, with a $2 airport charge and a $15 minimum. There's no flat fare to the port. No rideshare fare is published, so compare your app's quote. Rideshares pick up on MIA's arrivals and departures levels. See getting there.

How do I get from Fort Lauderdale airport to the Miami cruise port?

It's 25.7 miles, about 35 to 40 minutes by car without traffic. Carnival runs one sailing-day transfer from FLL at noon for flights landing by 11:30 a.m. Otherwise book a taxi, rideshare or private driver. See getting there.

Embarkation day

What time should I arrive at the Miami cruise terminal?

Your line sets it. Carnival has you pick an Arrival Appointment. Royal Caribbean gives you a slot in its app, and Norwegian puts your time on your eDocs. MSC prints the slot on your ticket. Arrive within it, and drop bags at the terminal before you park. See parking.

Where does Carnival cruise to from Miami?

Carnival's Miami cruises run 3 to 11 days. Short Bahamas trips call at Celebration Key, Half Moon Cay and Nassau. Western Caribbean trips go to Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica. Eastern Caribbean trips visit Amber Cove, Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Southern Caribbean trips reach Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire. See the ports.
