Terminals by cruise line

San Diego has two cruise terminals, and most ships use the bigger one: B Street Pier on the downtown waterfront. Your cruise line decides which pier is yours, and it can change, so check your boarding documents. A second pier, the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier, also takes ships. The port doesn't say which lines use it.

Hotels the night before

Sleeping near the pier the night before saves you the morning rush. We could confirm one hotel on its own pages, and it sits right across the street from the terminal. "Check rates" opens it on Booking.com, and "Hotel website" opens its own page. The compare button below searches every hotel near the terminal.

San Diego cruise parking

The Port of San Diego doesn't run cruise parking, and you can't leave a car on the pier. You use a private lot or garage nearby. The port lists several, and each one sets its own price and takes its own reservation. Book ahead, as the port advises.

No lot here shows a cruise rate we could confirm, so prices are on each lot's booking page.

Getting there

San Diego International Airport is the only airport you need. It's about 2.8 miles from the terminal and a short drive. The port lists three ways in: a taxi or rideshare, the MTS 992 bus, or an airport transfer from your cruise line if it offers one.

Ports you'll visit from San Diego

Most San Diego cruises are short Mexico trips and the Mexican Riviera: Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta and La Paz, plus Catalina Island. Disney, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Norwegian and Princess all run them, though not every line calls at every port.

Quick answers

How we checked these answers

Every answer is built from facts we checked against the sources below and cross-checked with recent port guides. Where sources disagreed, the answer says so instead of guessing a number.

Terminals & cruise lines

Where is the San Diego cruise port?

Most ships dock at the B Street Pier & Cruise Ship Terminal, 1140 N. Harbor Drive, on the downtown waterfront. Royal Caribbean names B Street as its terminal, and Disney has priority access to its North and South berths. The Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier also handles cruise ships and the port doesn't say which lines use it, so follow the terminal on your boarding documents. See the terminal.

What cruise lines sail from San Diego?

The Port of San Diego's 2026-27 schedule lists Disney, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Norwegian and Princess ships, along with Virgin Voyages, MSC, Crystal, Azamara, Oceania, Costa, Hapag-Lloyd and Explora. The regular round trips are mainly the first five, headed for Ensenada, Catalina Island and the Mexican Riviera. The schedule doesn't name each ship's pier. See the terminal and where the ships go.

Hotels

Which hotels near the San Diego cruise port have a shuttle?

We could confirm only one hotel on its own pages: Wyndham San Diego Bayside, across the street from the terminal. Royal Caribbean mentions a complimentary shuttle to the terminals from the Wyndham's parking lot, but Wyndham's own page doesn't describe a cruise package, so we don't promise one. At 0.31 miles you can walk it. See the hotel.

Can I walk from a hotel to the San Diego cruise terminal?

Yes, from the Wyndham San Diego Bayside at 1355 N. Harbor Drive. OpenStreetMap walking directions to the B Street terminal measure 0.31 miles, about 7 minutes. See the hotel.

Parking

How much does it cost to park at the San Diego cruise port?

The Port of San Diego doesn't run cruise parking and has no long-term parking at the terminals, so there's no port rate. Private lots set their own prices. Park, Shuttle & Fly advertises a coupon rate with restrictions, and Aladdin shows no rate until you reserve, so check each lot's booking page for your dates. See the parking.

Where do you park for a cruise out of San Diego?

There's no parking on the pier, so you use a nearby lot. The port lists lots across the street at the Wyndham and the BRIC garages, Aladdin (1.4 miles, free shuttle), Park, Shuttle & Fly (2.8 miles, free shuttle) and the airport's Harbor Drive plaza (taxi, rideshare or bus). Drivers can drop passengers and luggage on the pier first. See the parking.

Do I need to reserve cruise parking in San Diego?

Yes, it's the safe call. The Port of San Diego tells cruisers to reserve cruise parking in advance, and Royal Caribbean recommends reserving at the Wyndham lot. Park, Shuttle & Fly takes reservations online with no payment up front. See the parking.

Getting there

How far is San Diego airport from the cruise port?

San Diego International Airport (SAN) is the closest, about 2.8 miles from the B Street terminal by road and around 8 minutes' drive without traffic. The Port of San Diego puts it under 10 minutes. See getting there.

How do you get from San Diego airport to your cruise ship?

The Port of San Diego lists a taxi or rideshare, the MTS 992 bus (about 14 minutes, every 15 minutes, wheelchair accessible), or asking your cruise line whether it offers an airport transfer. We found no published fare to quote. See getting there.

Embarkation day

What time should I arrive at the San Diego cruise terminal?

Arrive at the boarding time your cruise line assigns you, and don't turn up before 10 a.m., the port says. Bring photo ID, your boarding document and a passport or birth certificate; passports are required for Mexico cruises. Have your driver drop you past the gate, on the pier, to skip the longest line. See the terminal.

Where do cruises from San Diego go?

Mostly Mexico: Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta and La Paz, plus Catalina Island, from Disney, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Norwegian and Princess. Not every line calls at every port. See the ports.
